God loves you deeply and longs for you to know Him. The Bible says, “For God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16). His desire for all people is for them to know Him and to experience life as it was intended: in relationship with Him.

This relationship with God begins by acknowledging three things…

1. Our need for forgiveness…

We have all walked away from God’s way and the Bible calls this sin (Romans 3:23). We must be willing to turn from our sin and to Christ. “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3:19).

2. Jesus paid for our wrongs.

Jesus Christ died for you on the cross. The consequence of our sins is death, but the Good News of the Bible is that Christ took that consequence for us (Romans 6:23). In other words, He died in our place! Instead of death, we now receive forgiveness and peace with God. “Christ died for our sins… he was buried… he was raised on the third day…” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

3. Our lives are to be lived as an expression of thankfulness for what Jesus has done.

God doesn’t force His way into your life. You must ask Him by faith to come into your life. Invite Him to dwell in you by the presence of His Spirit. “Call on the name of the Lord and you will be saved” (Romans 10:13). “… If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord’, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

If these statements express your beliefs and the desire of your heart, pray them now to God. Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me” (John 14:6). Ask Him now for this gift of a new life!
